About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled State and Local Tax Associate to join our team at RSM Global. As a key member of our tax services team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional service to our clients, helping them navigate the complexities of state and local tax regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate state and local tax services with existing clients to ensure seamless delivery of tax solutions.
  • Conduct tax planning and research tasks to identify opportunities for clients to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements to provide expert guidance to clients.
  • Review clients' current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and provide enhancements to improve procedures and reduce tax exposure.
  • Collaborate with clients' information technology personnel to obtain data for reporting requirements, audit procedures, and review for potential refunds or credits.
  • Assist clients in evaluating sales/use tax software systems that meet their compliance needs and support the implementation process.
Requirements
  • Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Accounting major.
  • Travel to assigned client locations is required; must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam - tax associates have the opportunity to obtain the audit hours required for full certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
