Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our State and Local Sales and Use Tax team at RSM US LLP. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional sales and use tax advisory and planning services to multi-state companies, driving business development, and serving as a career advisor and mentor to team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert sales and use tax advisory and planning services to multi-state companies, including technical research memoranda, nexus studies, exposure quantification, voluntary disclosures, and other sales tax mitigation strategies.
  • Business Development: Continuously develop and grow the State and Local tax practice by generating new revenue on existing client portfolios, cross-selling, and growing new client relationships.
  • People Management: Serve as a career advisor, mentor, or coach to one or more employees, providing honest and timely performance feedback and guidance.
  • Client Service: Lead and manage the business relationship of complex engagements, focusing on high-value, quality tax advice and seeking to expand services to clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience providing sales and use tax consulting services in a public accounting, consulting, or law firm.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of state and local sales and use tax laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, reverse audits, and state controversy work.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%.

  • Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

At RSM US LLP, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions, including education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $137,700 - $276,700

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
