Recreational Activities Manager

Marjon Advisors Inc. is seeking a dedicated Recreational Activities Manager to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through engaging and therapeutic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement structured, team-focused strategies for service delivery.
  • Facilitate group dynamics to improve service effectiveness.
  • Design and initiate innovative therapeutic projects and programs tailored for clients.
  • Serve as a resource and support for fellow team members.
  • Organize and execute special events, including seasonal celebrations, therapeutic excursions, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets, compiling data for monthly calendars, newsletters, and reports.
  • Conduct and document participant assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to create activities for the Wellness program.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Provide mentorship and training to fellow activities staff on program development.
  • Represent the Activities Department in interdisciplinary team meetings, communicating daily programming and any modifications to clients' care plans.
  • Offer support at various locations as required.
  • Assist with client transportation and safety measures.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with the geriatric population.
  • At least 1 year of experience in program development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and electronic medical records.
  • Able to demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, creativity, and teamwork.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: $18.00 per hour
