Job Summary and Qualifications

We are looking for an Operating Room Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center who embodies our company values by providing care with compassion. You will play a crucial role in our team by utilizing your skills in either the circulating or scrub position. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure safe and effective nursing care until the patient is transitioned to recovery.

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Overseeing the setup of instruments and equipment for your operating room, including the use of preference cards and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
  • Coordinating and managing your room during surgical procedures as the circulator.
  • Facilitating smooth and efficient transitions between surgical cases.
  • Employing proper body mechanics when moving patients to stretchers and operating tables to prevent injury.
  • Managing patient care and medication, including assisting with anesthesia.
  • Consistently reviewing charts for completeness, adhering to documentation protocols before and after surgical procedures.

Required qualifications include:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an operating room environment, preferably within an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Active RN license as mandated by state regulations or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
  • ACLS certification as required by the facility.
  • CNOR certification is preferred.
