Job Overview

Matic is seeking a seasoned data professional to lead our data analytics efforts. As Director of Data, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a data strategy that drives business growth and informs key decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a data analytics roadmap that aligns with business objectives
  • Oversee data architecture, reporting, and analytical capabilities
  • Combine internal and external data insights to inform company strategy
  • Provide subject matter expertise in data integration, transformation, visualization, and statistical modeling
  • Be a thought partner to the leadership team in identifying and tracking key performance indicators
  • Create high-impact predictive models to guide acquisition, retention, and monetization efforts
  • Own Matic's data analytics stack from data collection to self-service consumption
  • Champion a data-driven culture and train the organization to make the best use of data
  • Develop and implement a data monetization strategy in partnership with executive leaders
  • Hire, lead, and mentor a team of data professionals to support our growing organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of progressive work experience in a data role
  • 4+ years of people management experience, leading and developing data and analytics teams
  • Expertise in SQL query optimization, schema design, and data pipeline maintenance
  • Experience with data aggregation, reporting, and visualization platforms
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of corporate and operational business issues, as well as marketing strategy and budgeting
  • Business savvy mindset, with a track record of demonstrating ownership and obsession with data-driven improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses and insights to technical and non-technical audiences
