The Retail Technology Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for providing assistance with various technological systems utilized in retail operations at Shoe Carnival. Support is predominantly delivered via telephone to store leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Addresses inquiries from users through calls, emails, and support tickets regarding assistance or issues encountered.
- Identifies, isolates, and resolves challenges related to user experience, software, and hardware within retail computing systems, including but not limited to point-of-sale systems, Windows applications, wireless communication devices, digital signage software, payroll systems, customer traffic monitoring tools, and network connectivity.
- Refers complex issues to higher-level support specialists as necessary.
- Evaluates problems and proposes proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
- Monitors retail systems to identify potential issues.
- Records and tracks all reported incidents to ensure resolution.
- Contributes to the development of enhancements for retail systems.
- Oversees assigned projects to ensure timely completion.
- Aids in the testing of new hardware and software updates, facilitating their implementation across the organization.
- Supports the remote management of system installations conducted by vendors in new retail locations.
- Assists with the disassembly and reinstallation of systems during store renovations or relocations, whether on-site or remotely.
- Aids in configuring components of retail systems for new locations or replacements of malfunctioning equipment.
Qualifications:
- An associate's degree is preferred.
- A+ Certification is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a help desk or retail setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with server and PC software, networking systems, Windows and Linux operating systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and maintain a positive demeanor.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of Shoe Carnival's hardware, point-of-sale, and software systems.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
