Position Summary

The Senior Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in identifying key areas for improvement in billing processes through comprehensive audits and assessments. This position entails providing technical guidance and team leadership, serving as a crucial link between Life Flight Network and its billing partners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, healthcare, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in medical billing is required.
  • Coding certification from recognized bodies such as AAPC, AHIMA, or NAAC is preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic billing systems is essential.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite are necessary.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing processes, as well as federal and state air ambulance regulations, is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are a must.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance is crucial.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead all revenue cycle operations and oversee the daily activities of revenue cycle analysts.
  • Ensure timely execution of all revenue cycle tasks as prioritized by the Director of Revenue Cycle.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the revenue cycle and its integration with Life Flight Network operations.
  • Review daily operations of revenue cycle analysts and provide strategic recommendations to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Facilitate effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Generate reports and analyses as agreed upon with the Director of Revenue Cycle.
  • Mentor and train revenue cycle staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all job functions.
  • Conduct performance improvement reviews through data collection and quality audits.
  • Serve as the Account Administrator for Third Party Resources related to revenue cycle.
  • Assist in implementing innovative technologies and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Report any patient accounts that cannot be billed due to incomplete documentation to clinical leaders.
  • Analyze accounts receivable, collection trends, and overall revenue cycle performance.
  • Audit accounts for billing and coding accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to insurance, billing, claims, and coding, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and third-party insurance policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with management and third-party billing agencies regarding the status of patient accounts.
  • Audit allowance and write-off adjustments to mitigate losses from errors.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Summarize and interpret data from various sources into actionable reports.
  • Demonstrate advanced organizational and project management skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
