Director of Wellness Experience

Job Summary
The Director of Wellness Experience is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pool and beach areas, including maintenance, daily upkeep, cleanliness, and the operation of cabana units. This role provides exceptional customer service and models behavior to guests and employees. The Director will work with direct reports to implement departmental strategies and ensure the implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while meeting financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage employees, ensuring they have the necessary supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms to perform their jobs.
- Monitor quality, standards, and meet the expectations of customers on a daily basis.
- Develop and manage the children's program, including coordinating activities, purchasing equipment and supplies, and managing group activities such as sand painting, bon fires, and team building events.
- Manage pool and beach areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, and cleanliness, and the operation of cabana units.
- Provide exceptional customer service, serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors and improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs.
- Oversee all Human Resources activities in the Recreation Department, including employee satisfaction and guest satisfaction results, and ensure corrective action is taken when needed.
- Identify the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Participate in the performance appraisal system process, giving feedback when needed, and coordinate all training activities for employees in the department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the recreation/health club operations or related professional area.
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
