Psychologist Director of Pain Management

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking an accomplished psychologist to serve as the Director of Pain Psychology in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care. This full-time faculty position is available at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
The ideal candidate will lead the pain psychology program housed in the UCSF Pain Management Center, operating under the auspices of the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care, Division of Pain Medicine. This requires a passionate and innovative psychologist with exceptional clinical, academic, and administrative skills, as well as experience in multi-disciplinary care, faculty development and recruitment, scholarship, community engagement, and in training the next generation of leaders in pain psychology and pain medicine.
Responsibilities
The Director of Pain Psychology will be responsible for fostering a high standard of pain psychology care at the UCSF Pain Management Center. Additionally, they will foster innovative new pain psychology care models, both within the department and in collaboration with other departments. This position also involves fostering clinical research in pain psychology among faculty working at the UCSF Pain Management Center and broadly within the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care. Furthermore, the Director of Pain Psychology will mentor junior pain psychology faculty within the practice and foster retention of existing faculty, as well as collaborate with the Medical Director, nursing manager, administrative director of the Pain Management Center, and the Division Chief of Pain Medicine in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care.
