POSITION SUMMARY
Assist in the preparation of food by handling ingredients, which includes tasks such as portioning, chopping, and storing. Clean and peel fresh produce. Accurately weigh, measure, and combine ingredients. Cook and prepare meals in accordance with established recipes, quality benchmarks, presentation standards, and food preparation protocols. Prepare cold dishes as required. Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Assess food readiness by testing for proper cooking levels. Maintain oversight of food quality during the cooking process. Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently. Serve food in appropriate portions using designated containers. Sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Verify and ensure the correct temperature of appliances and food items.
Adhere to all organizational and safety protocols; report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management; complete required safety training and certifications. Maintain a clean and professional appearance in uniform; safeguard confidential information; protect company resources. Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues. Foster and maintain positive working relationships; collaborate with team members to achieve shared objectives; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of fellow employees. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards. Be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout the entire shift. Perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Carry out other reasonable job responsibilities as assigned by Supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
License or Certification: None required.
The pay range for this position is $23.14 to $28.93 per hour.
