Position Overview:

As a Credit Risk Assessment Analyst at Amalgamated Bank, you will engage in evaluating financing options for transformative projects aimed at fostering a more equitable and inclusive society. Key Responsibilities:

In this role, your analytical skills will be crucial as you collaborate with senior underwriters, the origination team, and credit risk management. Your tasks will include:

  • Assessing borrowers' financial health through the interpretation and analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and projections.
  • Establishing appropriate risk ratings for all credit facilities in line with our credit policy.
  • Participating in discussions regarding new transactions and collaborating with relationship managers to develop indicative term sheets.
  • Contributing to the preparation of detailed credit memorandums that outline opinions and recommendations on proposed loans, including potential risks and mitigations.
  • Conducting annual credit reviews, including the analysis of financial statements and overall creditworthiness.
  • Monitoring compliance with loan covenants and managing the credit portfolio effectively.
  • Assisting in the early identification and management of impaired credits.
  • Supporting the presentation of transactions to the credit committee for approval.
  • Reviewing loan documentation for compliance and credit monitoring purposes.
  • Performing additional transaction-related and administrative tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline, demonstrating strong academic performance.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple transactions concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Prior experience in credit underwriting or banking is advantageous.

Compensation:

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $84,900 to $96,000, with actual compensation dependent on various factors including experience and market conditions.
