Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admitting Worker to join our team at UCI Health Newport Beach. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our ambulatory clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience
  • Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry and verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage
  • Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments with accuracy and efficiency
  • Utilize office equipment, such as printers, copiers, and scanners, to support daily operations
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or administrative setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations
  • Proficiency in computer software, including data entry and retrieval
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs
  • Experience working with electronic health records and scheduling systems
  • Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
