Clinical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at El Paso Children's Hospital. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general clerical and receptionist duties, including medical record maintenance, order processing, and materials management functions on the pediatric unit.
- Assist visitors, nursing staff, and members of the healthcare team in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to hospital standards and protocols.
- Perform nursing assistant duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, or nurse manager.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with people over the telephone and/or in person, often in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient medical records, and clinical documents.
- Proficiency in the use of hospital computer systems related to ADT order entry, requisitions, lab inquiries, and other computerized processes.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures and operations, including supplies, equipment ordering, and inventory control.
- Clerical, word processing, and office skills, including the ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Successful completion of an approved educational program for nursing assistants or equivalent.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an approved unit clerk program within one year of employment.
- Nursing assistant certification preferred.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
