About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Documentation Reviewer. In this role, you will collaborate with CDI Specialists, Coders, and Providers to provide secondary case review and ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CDI Specialists, Coders, and Providers to provide secondary case review
  • Ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation
  • Enhance patient outcomes by improving Case Mix Index (CMI) and Geometric Mean Length of Stay (GMLS)

Requirements

  • BSN Degree Required
  • 3 or more years RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of disease processes, pathophysiology, and disease management/treatment
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) required
  • Coding Certification (CCS, CIC, CPC) preferred
  • Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, APR DRG, and MS DRG required
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Active TX RN license or ability to gain state licensure
