Job Title: Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives

Join InsideHigherEd as we seek an exceptional Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that drive student success and excellence in higher education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning and Project Management: Collaborate with the Vice President for Student Affairs to determine priorities and objectives for the Division of Student Affairs. Manage short and long-term initiatives, coordinate the strategic planning process, and develop project plans for implementation.
  • Business Operations: Manage day-to-day business operations, budget reporting, and planning. Work with the Vice President for Student Affairs, DSA staff, and the Student Service Fee Committee to develop and implement an effective department budget.
  • Data Analytics and Assessment: Support the analysis of divisional operations to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Track and assess the impact of office programs and initiatives on student retention, success, and learning outcomes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ensure collaboration with campus partners, faculty, and senior administrators. Liaise with Campus Life Communications to ensure timely communications to students, divisional staff, and campus partners.
  • Fundraising and External Relationships: Partner with University Development to determine priorities and VPSA engagement in university fundraising initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in student personnel, higher education, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in higher education, including large-scale event planning, marketing, and communications.
  • Demonstrated project and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to use sound judgment with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in crisis management, crisis communication, strategic planning, and project management.
  • Doctoral degree in student personnel, higher education, or a related field.
