Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Runnings. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading the sales floor team and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Merchandising and Sales: Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products, set priorities for distribution of new merchandise, and ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with purchases, provide excellent customer service, and work closely with Retail Buyers to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs.
  • Team Management: Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members, and ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that inventory levels are maintained and that stockroom organization is up-to-date.
  • Store Operations: Assist with opening and closing procedures, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma preferred.
  • Experience: Customer Service training and/or experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work an irregular schedule, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Working Environment:

The Department Manager will work in a fast-paced retail store environment, with frequent exposure to cash registers, scanners, and other retail equipment.
