About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Therapist to join our team at Elderwood at Waverly. As a Speech-Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing high-quality speech-language therapy services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify communication problems and develop personalized therapy plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to residents, focusing on improving communication skills, cognitive function, and overall quality of life.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication among team members.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident progress, including evaluations, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service training to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • M.A. or M.S. Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school.
  • New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Current, valid CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
