Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a skilled nursing facility in Waverly, NY. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating residents with communication disorders, including speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents to identify communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide speech and language therapy to residents, including individual and group sessions, to improve communication skills and address swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
  • Document resident progress and maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care and develop strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills.

Requirements:

  • M.A. or M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school.
  • New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
