Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

Reporting To: Assistant Manager of Community Partnerships

Position Summary: The Community Support Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing blood donation efforts through dedicated education, promotion, and event management. Collaborating with key internal partners, including Account Executives and the Assistant Manager of Community Partnerships, this position emphasizes exceptional customer service and communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The service area encompasses multiple counties.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients through effective communication and a customer-focused approach.
  • Deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • Target groups may include churches, hospitals, educational institutions, and community organizations.
  • Provide expert advice on best practices for organizing blood drives, focusing on logistics and promotional strategies.
  • Enhance community relationships by educating local businesses on their role in supporting blood donation initiatives.
  • Initiate and maintain quality relationships on behalf of the organization.
  • Boost donation levels through strategic outreach during peak times.

Event Management:

  • Support Account Executives by overseeing logistics for mobile blood drives to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead efforts to enhance donor experiences at mobile events.
  • Provide on-site support, including registration and flow management.
  • Coordinate marketing and educational initiatives prior to events to maximize participation.
  • Conduct evaluations post-events to gather insights and identify improvement areas.
  • Train volunteers and blood drive chairs as necessary.
  • Be adaptable with work hours, including potential overtime and weekend shifts.
  • Attendance and punctuality are critical to this role.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Clean driving record to meet insurance requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking abilities to navigate various situations.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or Hmong, are advantageous.
