Position Overview
As a Construction Financial Analyst, you will act as a vital financial resource for construction initiatives, serving as the primary connection between operational teams and corporate finance.
Role Responsibilities
This dynamic and high-stakes role encompasses financial reporting, compliance, and project processing responsibilities for projects valued between $20 million and $1 billion.
Key Duties Include:
- Collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Project Executive, while receiving guidance from the regional Project Controls Manager.
- Engaging directly on project sites and working alongside project teams and trade partners.
Project Accounting & Administration:
- Compiling owner requisitions and resolving internal audit findings.
- Managing subcontractor requisitions and accounts payable processes.
- Overseeing consumable materials purchasing and equipment inventory.
- Handling field payroll management and assisting with project setup, closeout, and contract review.
- Administering lien waivers and insurance documentation.
- Tracking and reporting on small business engagements.
Project Finance:
- Supporting monthly financial forecasts and preparing detailed cost reports.
- Monitoring key performance indicators and innovating processes for improvement.
- Managing project cash flow and forecasting, along with change order monitoring and reconciliation.
Contract Administration:
- Leading all activities related to contract management, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Ensuring comprehensive knowledge of company contracts and the involved parties.
- Securing necessary permits and verifying subcontractor insurance coverage.
- Facilitating project meetings to effectively coordinate work activities.
Team Leadership:
- Training and developing project team members, while preparing and submitting monthly job status reports that highlight project priorities and challenges.
- Overseeing project close-out, including the turnover of manuals, warranties, and final payment documentation for subcontractors.
Relationship Management:
- Fostering positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering, and design firms.
- Establishing deadlines and monitoring project progress while promoting a culture of safety on-site.
General Responsibilities:
- Proactively identifying and developing relationships with industry professionals to secure the right projects.
- Actively participating in recruiting top talent to join the organization.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced team environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP, Textura, Coupa, or Google platforms is advantageous.
- A highly motivated individual with strong organizational and time management skills, alongside robust quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
