Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Highgate Hotels. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead hotel sales efforts, including developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Conduct daily tours of operating departments to ensure optimal performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Host weekly staff meetings to review sales and operations efforts, provide training, and address employee concerns.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely manner.
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers to ensure budgeted productivity levels are met.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.
  • Maintain direct contact with management trainees to ensure their development and success.
  • Ensure all employees receive fair and equitable treatment in accordance with Highgate Hotel standards.
  • Meet clients on the property to assist in the sales effort and provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • At least 5-6 years of progressive experience in a hotel, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Ability to maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
