Job Description

This position is responsible for generating revenue in the Maryland and DC territories, reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager. You will be responsible for developing relationships with key decision-makers, articulating and communicating professionally via face-to-face, phone, and electronic communication. The successful candidate will work closely with the estimating team to ensure all details are covered, travel into the territory 70% of the time, and attend trade shows throughout the year.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle individual item sales inquiries via web or phone
  • Develop relationships and increase sales with end-users at each facility in our target markets
  • Work alongside contract sales associates as needed on large bid projects to cover end-user contacts and share bid leads
  • Discover new opportunities through pre-established relationships and learn about projects before they go out to bid or for pricing
  • Learn the key players at each facility from C-level professionals to maintenance staff and facilities managers
  • Oversee the entire sales process from meet and greet to installation for each project
  • Qualify each opportunity by identifying and understanding the scope prior to quoting
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to ensure accuracy and completeness
Requirements:
  • 2+ years experience in capital equipment, scientific equipment, construction sales/estimating, or lab furniture sales
  • College degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or relevant field
  • Safe, clean driving record (Employment contingent on a clean background check)
  • Ability to understand spatial relationships/design
  • Record of strong customer service skills
