Job Summary

LHC Group is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with adult to geriatric patients, providing comprehensive assessments, direct treatment, and developing home exercise programs. Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations on each patient in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate patients to determine rehab potential, identify needs, establish individualized treatment plans, and set goals.
  • Collaborate with patients and families in goal setting and achievement.
  • Schedule patients at appropriate times for therapy.
  • Identify patient and family education needs.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish interdisciplinary team goals.
  • Utilize equipment in a proper and safe manner, maintain equipment inspection, maintenance, and cleaning logs, and report broken or faulty equipment.
  • Follow medical regimens developed for patients, be aware of and adhere to precautions.
  • Utilize safe treatment techniques, such as transfers, positioning, feeding, splinting, paraffin bath, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, etc.
  • Utilize treatment approaches according to established OT protocols and policies.
  • Complete the appropriate documentation for each visit type.
  • Document units of treatment for each visit in the EMR.
  • Complete D/C summary for each patient on their final visit to outpatient OT.
  • Complete appropriate discharge planning, including educating patients and families/caregivers on Home Exercise Program (HEP) and providing patients with any needed discharge instructions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy and successful completion of the National Registry exam.
  • Current license in Occupational Therapy in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification and all other certifications and documents as required per LHC Group policy.
  • Must be willing to accept management responsibilities as assigned.
