Position Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Director, you will ensure that surgical instruments are properly cleaned, maintained, reprocessed, and sterilized, adhering to all quality and safety standards. You will manage surgical inventory levels and demonstrate flexibility by assisting in various areas of the hospital as needed. Your role will also involve participating in routine sterilization checks and collaborating with team members to enhance operational efficiency.

Technical Duties:
  • Efficiently operate all departmental equipment, including surgical instruments and sterilizers.
  • Support the surgical team in line with established protocols and regulations.
  • Diagnose and address equipment malfunctions, providing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Ensure the availability of all required supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall maintenance and organization of the department.
Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Take initiative in resolving daily operational challenges.
  • Serve as a primary contact for staff inquiries.
  • Monitor service quality and assist in staff training and coordination.
  • Support the Director in updating procedural documentation.
  • Facilitate effective workflow and team dynamics.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and coverage.
Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited Scrub Technician program is preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Certification must be obtained within six months of employment.

Experience: A minimum of three years of continuous experience in cardiovascular surgery is preferred, along with prior supervisory experience.

Knowledge: Proficient in assisting and scrubbing for all relevant procedures within the department, applicable to both acute and stable patients.
