Job Overview

The Test Facilities Engineer (Electrical/Controls) plays a pivotal role in the operational support of multiple aero engine testing environments dedicated to the advancement and validation of gas-turbine engines. This position, guided by experienced engineers, offers exposure to a comprehensive array of systems and controls essential in this fast-paced sector. The role emphasizes the application of robust engineering principles to enhance the functionality and uptime of testing facilities. Employing critical thinking and Lean methodologies will be fundamental to success in this position. Management of critical spare parts and addressing obsolescence will be integral to the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Provide daily technical support for engine testing facilities and associated hardware, under the mentorship of senior engineering personnel.
  • Formulate a strategic approach for spare parts management and oversee obsolescence considerations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and remedial actions alongside skilled craft teams.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the testing facilities.
  • Champion Lean initiatives and process enhancements to optimize production and testing workflows.
  • Stay informed on contemporary industry standards, technologies, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Engage in knowledge transfer and mentoring with specialized craft teams and fellow engineers.
  • Contribute to the documentation of best practices and user manuals for testing systems.
  • Advise on system upgrades and replacements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years in an engineering, IT, scientific, or technical role.
