Job Description Summary

In this role, you will work closely with the Commercial Engine Project & Engineering teams to launch GE's next generation of products. As an Advanced Demonstrators team member, you will be accountable for functional, business, and broad company objectives related to the successful execution of advanced engine demonstrator programs and other technical subjects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of Aero Thermal & Controls integration and coordination across global engineering discipline teams.
  • Responsible for developing and managing cross-functional, technology-led programs, managing interfaces with contractors, suppliers, customers, and internal functions, and managing program resources and budget allocation/integration in cooperation with program Operations.
  • Influences programs to meet customer CTQs.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, technology, Aero Thermal & Controls, or engineering.
  • Takes new perspectives on existing solutions, uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations, and uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience, may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements, explains difficult or sensitive information, and develops persuasion skills to influence others on topics within field and program scope.
  • Develops specialized knowledge in their discipline, serves as a best practice/quality resource, has awareness of latest technical developments in own area, and contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Contributes to Weekly Operating Rhythm (WOR) and Monthly Operating Rhythm (MOR) metrics from multiple internal and external customer inputs.
  • Coches, drives, and leads lean behaviors, principles, and tools across an operational or functional area, drives cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics.
  • Represents the program in front of both internal and external customers, requiring strong communication, presentation, and interface skills to ensure accurate reception of messaging and status.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering within at least one discipline: Turbo Machinery Aero Dynamics, Thermal Systems, Controls & Engine Performance.
  • 10 years in gas turbine engineering.
  • Prior experience working with global cross-functional teams.
  • Desired Characteristics: Master's degree, experience in two or more disciplines: Turbo Machinery Aero Dynamics, Thermal Systems, Controls & Engine Performance, excited about propulsion and sustainability, strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, communicate and coordinate clearly with internal and external partners, communicate concisely and appropriately with both internal and external senior leadership teams, demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects, ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs, established project management skills, passionate about giving & receiving mentorship, able to work both in a global team and individually, years of experience in an Engineering position, ability to guide and influence others, demonstrated process orientation in approach to work, demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs, exposure to commercial engine design requirements, problem analysis and resolution skills, experience with Smartsheet.
