Job Overview

The Test Facilities Engineer (Electrical/Controls) plays a pivotal role in the operational support of multiple advanced aero engine testing environments dedicated to the development and validation of gas-turbine engines. Under the mentorship of experienced engineers, this position offers a comprehensive exposure to the diverse systems and controls integral to this dynamic sector. The role emphasizes the practical application of robust engineering principles to enhance the functionality and reliability of the testing facilities. A focus on critical thinking and Lean methodologies will be essential. Effective management of critical spare parts and addressing obsolescence will be key responsibilities in this position. As a member of the Lynn Assembly and Test Facilities Team, you will contribute significantly to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties
  • Provide day-to-day technical assistance for engine testing facilities and associated hardware, with guidance from senior engineering personnel.
  • Formulate an optimal spare parts strategy and oversee obsolescence management.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and corrective actions alongside craft teams.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the Lynn test facilities.
  • Promote LEAN practices and process enhancements to optimize production and testing workflows.
  • Stay updated on contemporary industry standards, hardware, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing and mentorship with specialized craft teams and fellow engineers.
  • Contribute to the documentation of best practices and user manuals for testing systems.
  • Advise on system upgrades and replacements.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific, or technical role).
