Role Summary

The Senior Equipment Engineer will play a pivotal role in refining and innovating equipment and processes related to membrane and element manufacturing. Utilizing lean methodologies and advanced engineering principles, this position aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Problem Solving: Address production challenges by diagnosing equipment and process issues. This includes:
    • Monitoring performance metrics to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
    • Employing structured problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis and Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Conducting thorough data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Collaborating with maintenance teams to assist in equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Equipment Design and Development: Lead the design and qualification of new production and testing equipment. Responsibilities include:
    • Assessing current capacity and recommending enhancements to maximize efficiency.
    • Conducting engineering tests to gather experimental data.
    • Creating and executing plans for new equipment builds and modifications.
    • Managing project transitions into manufacturing through established protocols.
  • Communication: Effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. This includes:
    • Drafting clear operational procedures and training materials.
    • Facilitating discussions with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Data Evaluation: Analyze test data to establish critical process parameters and specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with R&D and Operations teams to transition product and equipment innovations from concept to production.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven track record in managing equipment and process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design software such as Solidworks or AutoCAD.
  • Hands-on experience in equipment fabrication and assembly.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High energy level and a proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with industrial control systems and robotics.
  • Electrical troubleshooting expertise.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools.

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including experience and qualifications.
