POSITION SUMMARY:
The role involves executing advanced setups, preparing, and operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machines and multi-turret lathes with 3 and/or 5 axis capabilities to process metal components or other workpieces. The operator will access new or complex jobs via the CNC controller and ensure the maintenance of controls and processes through the upkeep of tools and machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct advanced setups and operate CNC multi-axis milling and/or lathe machines for the production of metal items.
- Access new or complex jobs on the CNC controller, including tool selection and non-CAD/CAM programming, or manage manual machine types.
- Input commands to activate machines for aligning indexing tables and spindles.
- Monitor machine functions and readouts to identify malfunctions.
- Maintain control over critical processes through the upkeep of tools and equipment, and collaborate with fellow operators to troubleshoot issues.
- Extract finished products and measure/verify dimensions to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Inspect and measure machined products to confirm adherence to specifications and detect defects or non-conformities.
- Perform machine adjustments and maintenance, including setting speed and feed rates, cleaning machine components, and replacing worn or damaged drill bits.
- Initiate and drive process improvements through effective communication and feedback with relevant personnel.
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment.
- Exhibit punctuality, follow supervisory directions, interact positively with colleagues, adhere to work rules and procedures, comply with company policies, and accept constructive feedback.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned or required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a CNC machine operator or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Fundamental understanding of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and arithmetic.
- Advanced proficiency in CNC controller operation.
- Familiarity with production processes, machine operation, and raw materials.
- Capability to control and operate CNC equipment.
- Adeptness in monitoring and observing gauges, dials, and displays.
- Proficiency in using and interpreting basic measuring devices and blueprints.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, engineering drawings, or specifications.
- Knowledge and experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the type and duration of experience in the role, industry experience, education, geographic location, and more.
