Job Summary

This role will be responsible for overseeing the Transportation department, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods, and driving business growth through process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Transportation department to achieve safety, service, and cost targets
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Oversee the development of Transportation Managers and drivers, providing coaching and training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
  • Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal DOT regulations
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of experience in transportation/delivery supervision
  • Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods, and procedures
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills
  • Ability to openly and effectively communicate with all associates/departments within the company
  • Strong understanding of DOT, inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
Work Environment

This role will require occasional travel, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training. The successful candidate will be required to spend time in an office working on a computer and will also be expected to spend time in a truck with drivers, exposed to noise and vibration levels which may be higher than those typically experienced in passenger cars.

Education/Training

A high school diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
