We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Surgery Technician to join our team at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital. As a key member of our surgery department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and comfort.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including endoscopy, CT, soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and laparoscopic procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and medication calculations and administration.
- Monitor anesthesia levels and provide exceptional patient care.
- Assist with patient prep and recovery, as well as provide outstanding client communication and education.
- Work collaboratively with our team to ensure seamless patient care and a positive client experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the veterinary field with anesthesia experience required.
- Solid technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude.
- Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
- Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures, including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures completed, supplies used, and anesthetic records.
