Job Title: Overnight Registered Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Alliance Animal Health. As a key member of our veterinary hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering top-notch medical services.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including animal restraint, triage, lab sample collection and analysis, diagnostic imaging, and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases. You will also be expected to administer medications, communicate effectively with clients, and assist with surgical procedures and anesthesia management.

Responsibilities:
  • Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples
  • Diagnostic imaging and management of medical and hospitalized cases
  • Administration of medications and effective communication with clients
  • Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthesia management
Requirements:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting
  • High work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Weekend availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection, including blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, including dental radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
Working Conditions:

The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request. The job requires sufficient ambulatory skills to perform required duties while working. Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
