Position Overview

International Assignment:
This position entails a long-term deployment to an overseas location. The role involves serving as a Training System CIP (Flight Instructor Sr Stf) for the F-35B/C, supporting the USMC and USN at a designated military base.
The candidate will be responsible for instructing flight procedures utilizing the approved pilot training syllabus within Pilot Training Devices. Instruction will be delivered through Full Mission Simulators (FMS).

The instructor will operate Instructor Operating Stations (IOS) and will be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of pilot training.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with fellow Lockheed Martin training personnel on-site to achieve F-35 training goals.

The candidate will also implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access.

Deployment is contingent upon successful completion of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) required at Lockheed Martin's training facilities prior to international assignment.

The selected individual may be required to work rotating shifts and exceed 40 hours per week.

Relocation and housing support are available.

Accompanied Status:
New hires may have qualifying dependents accompany them during their long-term overseas assignment.

Employees and their accompanied family members will be covered under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) as part of their employment.

The assigned location is a city on the Japanese Island of Honshū, offering a rich cultural experience and various entertainment options for residents and visitors. The nearest major city is accessible within a short travel time.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience interfacing with military customers.
  • Familiarity with the F-35 pilot training curriculum.
  • Knowledge of F-35 program requirements.
  • Understanding of F-35 systems.
  • Experience with F-35 Full Mission Simulators.
  • Familiarity with the F-35 ALIS program.
  • Current possession of F-35 Program special access.
  • A minimum of 1000 hours of Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft.
  • Previous experience as an Instructor Pilot (IP).
