Primary Objective:

The role focuses on delivering direct support in a residential environment for individuals with special needs, ensuring their optimal quality of life across physical, emotional, and mental health dimensions while complying with CCARC policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates effective, respectful, and appropriate communication, both verbal and written, with various teams involved in participant care, including daily updates on any physical or behavioral changes while adhering to documentation requirements.
  • Engages with family members, guardians, DDS, and external healthcare providers to coordinate health and hygiene-related appointments.
  • Provides essential physical and emotional support to participants, which includes:
    • Assisting with personal care, hygiene, and treatments, including medication administration and vital sign monitoring.
    • Educating participants on personal hygiene, grooming, and behavioral conduct, serving as a role model to enhance their self-esteem.
    • Coordinating and leading social and recreational activities, as well as shopping for necessities, ensuring safe transportation for participants.
    • Managing general housekeeping tasks and laundry duties.
    • Offering nutritional support by monitoring residents during mealtime according to individual food consistency guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency protocols and responds appropriately to crisis situations.
  • Manages and records the use of household petty cash and individual funds in accordance with CCARC policies.
  • Collaborates to address conflicts and challenges, seeking guidance from management and team members as necessary.
  • Adheres to universal precautions, OSHA standards, and infection control policies consistently, along with department and shift procedures.
  • Maintains good attendance, including tracking days of absence, illness, and tardiness.
  • Participates in mandatory training sessions, staff meetings, and conferences as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License with insurability through the Agency's carrier is necessary. Employees in this role must have access to a vehicle and maintain adequate insurance.
  • Completion of the Agency's Employee Training is mandatory.
  • Willingness to undergo training in CPR, First Aid, PMT (Psychological/Physical Management Training), and DDS Medication Administration is required if not already certified.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Experience with Microsoft products and familiarity with email and Therap is preferred.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required.
