Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role involves supporting the launch and transition management within the business unit. This includes coordinating pilot production schedules with manufacturing, assisting the Materials team with warehouse configurations and part flows, and leading change management initiatives to ensure all teams comprehend the specifics of changes, their respective roles, and the requirements for effective implementation with minimal disruption to operations. The candidate will exemplify the principles of the 5C's: Care, Commit, Connect, Communicate, and Celebrate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates and drives launch and change-related tasks in collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Provides consistent updates on all ongoing issues and statuses, ensuring timely completion of activities within established targets.
  • Maintains and updates the LM Manufacturing database.
  • Conducts weekly meetings to review upcoming product launches with the LM Manufacturing cross-functional team.
  • Leads pre-production builds and Performance Evaluation Reports (PERs) to ensure all departments are informed of customer delivery requirements, reporting outcomes to management.
  • Collaborates with Operations, MPS, and Engineering to familiarize with products, aiding at customer facilities during pilot builds.
  • Works alongside Corporate Product Engineering and Program Management to establish timelines for subsequent launch activities, regularly communicating these timelines to the LM Manufacturing team.
  • Ensures all departments have updated documentation for new changes, adhering to the New Product Process Change (NPPC).
  • Acts as the primary contact for all manufacturing and engineering groups for coordination purposes.
  • Understands the scope and timing of engineering changes from Corporate Engineering, establishing implementation timelines and activities at the plant.
  • Ensures compliance with part pedigree requirements for each pilot build event.
  • Verifies design packages against approved Product Change Notification (PCN) documentation.
  • Obtains and interprets seat Bill of Materials (BOM) from engineering, assessing impacts on plant systems.
  • Communicates with suppliers to align on timing and events for changes.
  • Coordinates with customers to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for design change implementation and PER parts.
  • Promotes and supports the principles of company goals, objectives, and policies in a positive manner.
  • Maintains a strong focus on safety, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards as per company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Ensures a safe environment for all employees and visitors, maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Responds to and investigates reports of injuries, accidents, and property damage promptly.
  • Participates actively in the division's safety program, conducting regular inspections and investigating incidents.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires work in both an office and manufacturing environment. Physical demands include prolonged sitting, occasional lifting, and the ability to bend and stoop. Flexibility in hours is essential, including the possibility of shift work and overtime.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a manufacturing setting, subject to varying temperatures based on external weather conditions. The role necessitates the ability to adapt to both office and manufacturing environments, with similar physical demands as previously mentioned.
