Fiber Optic Installation Technician

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Installation Technician to join our team at Parallel Partners. As a Fiber Optic Installation Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive high-quality fiber internet installation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform fiber internet installations and connections at customer premises within designated local markets.
  • Conduct preinstallation site surveys and assess requirements for fiber network connectivity.
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and related equipment to ensure reliable and high-speed internet service.
  • Adhere to installation guidelines, quality standards, and safety protocols during all installation activities.
  • Provide customers with detailed explanations of the installation process, equipment functionality, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all installation activities, including equipment records and customer information.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or concerns related to the installation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist customers with the setup and configuration of their devices to connect to the fiber internet service.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, addressing their questions, concerns, and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the local team, including other technicians and contractors, to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain inventory of installation materials, tools, and equipment, reporting any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to fiber optic installations.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in fiber optic installation, telecommunications, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to use various tools and equipment for fiber optic installations.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Solid understanding of fiber optic networks, terminations, connectors, and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for fiber optic installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and installation instructions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time and priorities effectively.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to customer locations within the designated local markets.
