Job Summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineering Technician I to support our NATSC contract in Newport, Rhode Island. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for repairing and manufacturing towed array modules and cables, as well as performing tests and experiments to ensure quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Repair and manufacture towed array modules and cables using standard procedures and equipment
  • Perform tests and experiments to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials
  • Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications
  • Use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information
Requirements
  • High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance
  • Familiar with standard computer operation and Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications
  • Documented completion of soldering and/or fiber-optic termination/connectorization certification/training
  • Operational knowledge and experience with industrial equipment, including module hosing/dehosing, pressure, tension, and handling testing, and automated/semi-automated electronic test equipment
