We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our team at BlueScope Coated Products. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a key role in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Installation: Direct the design and installation of new or replacement electrical, mechanical, and automation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Reliability and Standards: Develop and maintain standards for reliability and guidelines for engineering and maintenance activities on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform daily maintenance activities on equipment and systems within your responsibility, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with other staff to provide plant-specific technical expertise to projects of a large and complex nature, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process equipment improvements utilizing reliability-based maintenance philosophy, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced downtime.
  • Training and Development: Develop and organize training programs for maintenance associates that apply to operations, maintenance, and safety, ensuring a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and take appropriate measures to prevent failures from reoccurring, ensuring a safe and reliable work environment.
Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer II with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in an electrical engineering role or industrial maintenance engineer experience.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
    • 2 years of experience in an electrical engineering role or 2 years of industrial maintenance engineer experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 5 years of industrial maintenance engineer experience.
    • Heavy manufacturing experience in the implementation of automation projects with successful cost and performance outcomes.
    • Prior experience working with production and maintenance teams to evaluate equipment performance, propose improvements, and implement change.
    • Prior experience in maintaining, upgrading, and fault-finding electrical equipment such as PLC's, HMI's, and AC/DC drives.
    • Project management experience.
