Shop Mechanic II

As a Shop Mechanic II at Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of machines in the rental fleet, including earth-moving, aerial, landscaping, and material handling equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as diesel engines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on hydraulic and electrical systems, diesel engines, and small engines.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulic and electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
• Typically located in a comfortable indoor area.
• Regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Travel Requirements:
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
• Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
