Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our Rehabilitation Services team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our clinical care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support activities that promote patient-focused care within our Specialty Service.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing, and toileting, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Collect specimens and perform procedures as directed by registered nurses, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Support the registered nurse in patient care activities, including vital sign collection, intake and output recording, and other duties as needed.
- Perform clinical procedures, such as specimen collection, venipuncture, EKG, and application of compression devices, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assist patients with ambulation and mobilization, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment, including removing trash and reporting physical plant and equipment problems to management.
- Transport patients to stretchers or wheelchairs, as required, and deliver and collect trays and bedside.
- High School Diploma (graduate or equivalent) required.
- Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant with skills in venipuncture and EKG preferred.
- Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred.
- Heartsaver and/or BCLS Certification from American Heart Association required.
