Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our Outpatient Department.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain vital signs, heights/weight, and head circumference (Pediatrics only), and record results for licensed professionals.
- Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for various tests and examinations.
- Perform blood glucose monitoring, record results, and report findings to licensed professionals.
- Perform electrocardiographs and provide documented results to licensed professionals.
- Prepare, label, and collect various specimens for testing, including phlebotomy.
- Perform necessary documentation using manual or electronic procedures (EMR).
- Monitor and calibrate clinic equipment, such as blood glucose machines, scales, and refrigerators.
- Assist in processing patient admissions and discharges, and maintain telephone coverage on the Nursing Station.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a NYS Department of Health prescribed training program for Phlebotomy.
- Completion of a healthcare setting-based training program in electrocardiographs and basic life support procedures, including certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.
