Job Description:

Position: Surgical Instrument Processing Specialist | Central Processing Department

Exciting Opportunity: We are seeking a Surgical Instrument Processing Specialist to join our Central Processing Department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the decontamination of surgical instruments, rigid scopes, and medical equipment, ensuring the highest standards of sterility and safety for all patients.

Role Overview:

  • Examine and prepare surgical instruments and patient care equipment for cleaning and decontamination.
  • Adhere to proper hand washing procedures in accordance with infection control policies, utilizing personal protective equipment during decontamination tasks.
  • Employ the instrument management system for tracking, identifying, and documenting instruments throughout the tray assembly process.
  • Prioritize the assembly of trays and instruments to meet the demands of supported areas.
  • Utilize the instrument management system to accurately document the distribution of trays and individual instruments during the case cart assembly and distribution process.
  • Complete manual documentation of tasks as required.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Central Processing Department Certification required.
  • Experience with Instrument Tracking Systems.

Core Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of essential sterilization techniques and a commitment to compliance with Hospital Infection Control policies.
  • Proficient in the operation of all high-level disinfection equipment (e.g., AER, TEE Probe Reprocessor, and GUS machines).
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to maintain an organized and clean workspace.

Additional Information:

  • Shifts: 8-hour shifts; Monday through Friday, with weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay Range: $25.34-$38.16
