Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Specialist to join our team at the City of New York. As an Instrumentation Specialist, you will be responsible for performing work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic instrumentation and control systems, including microprocessors, and electrical and pneumatic instrumentation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with and make periodic inspections of instrumentation metering equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on wastewater instrumentation systems
  • Install, repair, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot various PLC controls
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment for in-place or shop corrective maintenance
  • Install and set-up wastewater instruments
  • Adjust and service electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, telemetric instrumentation, controls, and communications equipment in the Wastewater Treatment facilities
Requirements
  • An associate degree in electrical construction and instrumentation, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, electromechanical engineering technology, or electronic engineering technology from a college or university accredited by regional, national, professional, or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • One year of full-time satisfactory experience within the last ten years in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic instrumentation and control systems, including microprocessors, and electrical and pneumatic instrumentation and control systems
