Key Responsibilities:

The Temporary Office Coordinator will deliver administrative assistance to the Benefits Department. This role includes supporting leave of absence processes and providing general benefits information to staff members.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Facilitating leave of absence requests and maintaining communication with departments and employees as necessary.
  • Coordinating internal and external transfers within the University System of Georgia.
  • Providing information to employees regarding their rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Assisting in the organization of open enrollment activities and the annual Benefits Fair.
  • Managing medical information in compliance with HIPAA and Employee Privacy regulations.
  • Reviewing and processing applications for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
  • Offering general assistance to employees regarding their benefits.
  • Performing routine administrative tasks, including handling phone calls, emails, faxes, files, and mail.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma/GED with six years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn new software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
