Job Overview

Position Summary:

Engage with essential stakeholders to refine financial accounting practices within the manufacturing facility, ensuring alignment with overarching corporate goals and promoting cost-effectiveness. Directly oversee financial operations in accordance with corporate fiscal strategies under the supervision of the Corporate Controller.

Strategic Collaboration and Leadership:

Encourage teamwork with local plant management to tackle strategic and operational challenges, ensuring consistency with corporate objectives. Aid in the preparation, evaluation, and analysis of plant-specific budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics in collaboration with both local and corporate leadership. Partner with senior analysts to establish goals and track performance, ensuring efficient cost management.

Financial Oversight, Analysis, and Compliance:

Guarantee compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) within the financial activities of the plant.

Ensure that processes are effectively structured and documented to maintain alignment across the organization.

Implement enhancements in purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing cycles.

Support improvements in month-end closing processes and system integrity.

Oversee vendor payment processes and manage capital budgets for facilities, including conducting return on investment analyses and evaluating cash flow implications.

Maintain fixed asset records for production and research facilities while administering internal controls in partnership with plant leadership.

Ensure adherence to local and state tax regulations, maintaining precise records and timely submissions to mitigate risks.

Execute all tasks related to the general ledger, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing journal entries, conducting month-end plant reviews, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.

Ensure readiness for audits and effectively support both internal and external audit processes.

Coordinate the completion of balance sheet account analyses and related reconciliations.

Review cost center and chart of account structures, providing recommendations as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline is required; CPA or MBA is preferred.

Prior experience as a plant controller in a manufacturing setting with a focus on cost accounting is essential.

Expertise in strategic analysis of complex data sets, with experience in the food manufacturing sector and familiarity with NetSuite is advantageous.

Demonstrated integrity, strong work ethic, and proficiency in mathematical/statistical analysis.

Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex accounting concepts across all organizational levels.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and exhibit strong leadership in achieving results.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a self-driven work approach.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $158,000 annually, which is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. In addition to the salary, this role is eligible for a potential annual bonus and equity. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
