Job Overview

Position Summary:

Provide direct oversight and alignment with corporate financial strategies under the direction of the Corporate Controller.

Collaborative Leadership:

Build strong partnerships with local plant management to tackle strategic and operational challenges, ensuring alignment with the corporate mission. Aid in the preparation, evaluation, and analysis of plant-level budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics in collaboration with both local and corporate leadership. Work alongside senior analysts to establish objectives and track performance for effective cost management.

Financial Oversight and Analysis:

Guarantee compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) within the financial operations of the plant.

Ensure that processes are efficiently designed and documented to maintain alignment across the organization.

Implement enhancements in purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing cycles.

Support improvements in month-end closing processes and system integrity.

Oversee vendor payment processes and manage capital budgets for facilities, including conducting ROI assessments and evaluating cash flow implications.

Maintain fixed asset records for production and research facilities while administering internal controls in partnership with plant leadership.

Ensure adherence to local and state tax regulations, maintaining precise records and timely submissions to mitigate risks.

Handle all tasks related to the general ledger, including entering month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing journal entries, executing month-end plant reviews, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.

Ensure readiness for audits and effectively support both internal and external audit processes.

Coordinate the completion of balance sheet account analyses and related reconciliations.

Review cost center and chart of account structures, providing recommendations as necessary.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required; CPA or MBA is preferred.

Prior experience as a plant controller in a manufacturing setting with a focus on cost accounting is essential.

Proficiency in strategic analysis of complex data sets, with experience in the food manufacturing sector and familiarity with NetSuite is advantageous.

Demonstrated integrity, strong work ethic, and mathematical/statistical skills.

Exceptional communication abilities to convey intricate accounting concepts across all organizational levels.

Capability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and exhibit strong leadership in driving results.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a self-directed work style.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $158,000 annually, which is just one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package. In addition to the salary, this role is eligible for a potential annual bonus and equity. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
