Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our team at Midwest Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Scribe, you will play a critical role in supporting our physicians and optometrists by accurately documenting patient information and assisting with minor in-office procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document patient information, including medical history, family medical history, and chief complaint, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist physicians with minor in-office procedures, such as applying drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
  • Provide chair-side assistance to physicians and administer treatment as ordered.
  • Review care instructions with patients and ensure they understand their treatment plan.
  • Perform visual acuity tests, including far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
  • Examine eyes for abnormalities and perform other tests and measurements as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Efficient computer skills and ability to type 40+ words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working as a Medical Scribe or in a similar role.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
