Job Title: Workforce Development Specialist

At Eckerd Connects, we're seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Workforce Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will play a critical role in connecting individuals with employment opportunities and helping them achieve their career goals.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers, colleges, military, and social service agencies to identify job placement opportunities and promote our workforce development programs.
  • Conduct job readiness assessments and provide career guidance to participants to help them achieve their employment goals.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify job placement concerns and propose solutions to ensure program success.
  • Enter data collected on client and employer activity in our internal and state systems, maintaining accurate participant records and performing filing and general clerical functions.
  • Develop and implement program marketing strategies, including recruitment sessions, job fairs, and other outreach activities to promote our workforce development programs.
Requirements:
  • Related Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant work experience hiring, training, and managing staff, with a focus on workforce development and employment services.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to build relationships with diverse groups of participants, staff, and community partners.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of issues that affect people with barriers and disabilities.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and drive for business purposes.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers. Our training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.

We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
