Job Title: Diesel Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Technician to join our team at Ryder System in Akron, OH. As a Diesel Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
  • Advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs, diesel after treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint
  • Instruct and advise other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
Requirements:
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
  • Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Must be available to work shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required
  • Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic

  • Hourly Pay: $33.50 per hour
