Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Akron, OH. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs and diesel after-treatment repairs
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Coach and mentor other technicians
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
